why I gave, jessica vascellaro
Last night, while helping interview Harvard applicants, I met a wonderful and very underprivileged kid. I asked him why he was applying to Harvard and he said that his mom cleaned houses for a Harvard grad when he was young and the grad convinced him he too could attend the school one day. But he said what really made the difference was the regular emails and support he got from Harvard...

we are at 8.81% on 12/1
at the start of december, we stand at 8.81% and 141 gifts, we are leading 2004 (which at this point had 116 gifts and 7.30% of the class) — but we can do better. right now at a flat run we are scheduled to come in at 26.2% participation across the class — which is a definite improvement from recent years, but one might argue still a weak showing vs. the 70+% that princeton does....

+3 = 8.16% & lets pull a hat-trick at harvard/yale
hope to see a ton of people this weekend out for harvard/yale — while we are trashing yale on the football field, (and perhaps ourselves outside the stadium) — why not make it a hat-trick and trash the tigers at their own game? — we are at 8.16% — care to up it http://bit.ly/H2005

This gift is dedicated to happiness. May everyone in the Class of 2005 find it, stumble upon it, trip over it, drown in it, lap it up and own it. Per Gandhi, ‘happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony……’ Very veritas. XX - Meagan Marks

a great event in NYC
the class of 2005 had a great event in NYC last night… we went over a bit of history, the state of play - and had a great discussion with Kate Gellert ‘93 — about her experiences. Eli, Ernesto, Andrew, Amarachi, I all gave updates…. and brian myers asked about hot breakfasts. Overall a lot of fun catching up with classmates and doing an NYC kickoff, sam

goal #1: let's have 2004 behind us before...
the harvard class of 2004 had a total class participation rate of 28.4% - we think that 2005 can have that in our rear view mirror by christmas to participate: 1.  goto the online form and make a donation -  it can be as little as $10 ($2.50 per year of education, $2 a year since graduation) 2.  say hi to the class - we would love to hear why you donated, a memory, whatever you want - we...
